North Korea Tensions Heat Up: World in 60 Seconds

Hi everybody. Ian Bremmer here and I’m announcing it’s spring!
Because it’s nice outside. I’m not wearing a coat! There you go. And I have your World in 60 Seconds. Your questions are here
and we’re ready for the start of spring. World in 60. Go! Oh, you clever people! Yes, it is heating up a little bit because
if they test a weapon then Trump has little egg on his face. He said was a big deal that they didn’t. But the fact that North Korea has ongoing
relations with the Chinese and South Koreans ultimately matter more, means that we’re in a better
shape than we were two years ago and that it is safer. On balance I think, yes. Because he hasn’t been seen in years and massive demonstrations want him out. The military is still in charge no matter
what though. This is not about regime change. Once again, yeah I expect they will ask for a formal delay. And Theresa May will lose yet again a really embarrassing vote in parliament. Well, Prime Minister Trudeau has lost a couple
of his key cabinet ministers, as well as his chief of staff, who kind of runs the government,
on the back of some pressure that he’s put against his former justice minister, to
basically set aside a trial and keep jobs in his core province where he’s from
– Quebec. Is Trudeau going to be forced resign? Probably not. But this is a big scandal. Biggest scandal
they’ve had internally in like over 50 years. It’s a Canadian style scandal. There’s no sex, there’s no drugs. There’s not like money changing hands and
his elections are coming up in October. He’s probably going to lose. So it matters. And that’s it. That’s bit over. But you asked what it was about some times about
and I’ll see you next week!
