Managing Medication

Managing Medication

Hello my name’s Mary, I’m here to talk to
John about medications today John, I’ve just come to talk about how important
it is to take medications as prescribed by the doctor sometimes that can be a little bit difficult
because there’s lots of different medications I’ve an example here of a Webster pack that
can be made up by the chemist and they put all your medications in as the doctor’s prescribed
them It’s got breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tea
and it’s got Monday to Sunday down there So it’s all set out for you as to what days
and when you have to have them That might be useful They have this Pill-Bob that helps you get
them out easily without dropping them because they can be a little difficult So you just stick that bit in the back and
twist it and they fall out And then you can see that that packet’s empty There is another version John but that is
not made up by the chemist, you do it yourself It’s the same principle, the days of the week,
morning and afternoon You can do that yourself if you like But John those extra medications that you
need to take, say when your pain is a bit more and you need to take that extra that
the doctor prescribed, pain medications as an example We would like you if you can please to keep
a diary for us as to when you have them, like the day, the time, and how bad your pain was,
so that we can then come back in a few days’ time and see if we need to increase what’s
in here Yeah, I can do that Mary
