Is Drinking Urine Good For Diabetes?

Hello, I’m Ty Mason from TheDiabetesCouncil.com,
researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes. Today I’m going to answer the question, is
drinking urine good for diabetes. But before we get into that, make sure you
download my free diabetes management book which also includes a diabetes grocery shopping
guide (foods to eat and avoid) and other tips to better manage your blood sugar to avoid
complications by clicking the link below. Well, I have been asked some strange questions
before, but this one might top any of the others I have been asked. But never let it be said that I shy away from
uncomfortable or controversial topics on this channel. First of all let me say that the public opinion
of urine has taken a complete 180 and just in the past 100 years or so. Urine was never considered a waste product
of the body but rather as a distilled product selected from the blood and containing useful
substances for the care of the body. At one point in time urine was referred to
as the “gold of the blood” and “elixir of long life,” indicating its therapeutic potential. I honestly thought I would have trouble finding
material on this topic. I mean who would drink urine and let people
know publically that they do so? Well, there are thousands upon thousands who
are proud of it. I guess what I me being asked to discuss today
is my opinion on urine therapy. That is what those who try to give this practice
some legitimacy call the practice of not only drinking urine, but using it in other fashions. There are many types of urine therapy out
there. Most have similar “steps” and the first
is a fast. The beginning fast means “patients” can
have nothing to eat or drink but urine for a determined amount of time. Now, I do want to stress most who follow urine
therapy drink only their own urine. Others drink not only the urine of other humans
but of some animals. According to their website, one of the top
urine therapy groups in the world makes the following claim:
“Urine Therapy is the safest and easiest method of treatment to prevent, control and
cure Diabetes. It can safe guard all other complications
arising from diabetes include heart disease, hypertension, and diabetic retinopathy.” I found absolutely no scientific evidence
to back this claim up. I found little in the way of any real research
discussing this topic. It is very taboo in our modern culture. Is drinking urine good for diabetes? Let’s face it, as of right now there is
no “cure” for diabetes. Drinking urine is not going to cure your diabetes. I am not sure what it will do but as far as
the question I was asked, no, it is not good. I hope this answered your question is drinking
urine good or bad for diabetes. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management
book by clicking the link in the description box below. Let me know if you have any other diabetes
related questions. Thank you
I am Ty Mason
