[COURS] Comment mesurer la tension d’une batterie ?


Hello everyone,
Professeur Louis speaking. Professeur did not have time
to iron his shirt as you can see but he has time to teach
you through that video how to use a multimeter and more precisely, how to measure the voltage of a battery. How to measure the voltage
of a battery with a multimeter? In that video, I’ll teach you how to
measure a voltage with a multimeter. Here, I’ll show you
how on a tablet, but you can do it on
anything that can be measured, whether it’s a smartphone battery games console, an electronic component,
a car battery and more. You’ll need the following tools: a multimeter, multimeter test probes, and the device, the battery or
component you wish to measure. First step:
we’ll plug in the cables. Connect the red cable
to the VΩ port. Ω is the sign next to the letter
« V » on this multimeter. Connect the black cable
to the COM port. Turn on your multimeter. Turn the range switch on the selected range in the V part. Careful, there are two
« V » as you can see, but they have
different symbols. The first one with
a line and three dots is the direct current voltage also known as DC voltage. The second one is
alternative current voltage also known as AC voltage. If you wish to learn more and understand the differences, watch C’est pas sorcier,

in the description. Here, we’ll measure
the battery of a tablet and choose the range 0-20V so put the switch on 20. If the voltage is superior
or inferior than 20V choose the corresponding range. Even if most multimeters
are protected or made for this, make sure to choose the
correct range before measuring not to damage it. Then grab the battery. Here, a tablet.
The battery is glued. We can identify it
by its shape and size. Locate the cables that link the
battery to the electronic components Usually, a connector links
the battery to the device. If you can, disconnect the
battery from the device. If it’s soldered, the colored cables
are visible. Remove the tapes or covers. Interesting scenario here, the polarity is shown
on the motherboard, which is not
always the case. On the left,
the positive pole (+) and on the right,
the negative pole (-). Take the test probes and
connect accordingly. The (+) to the red probe, and the (-) to the black probe. The voltage will appear
on the multimeter, here: 4.04 so 4.04V. If by mistake you
reversed the polarity, if you mixed up
the colors and placed the red probe
on the negative pole (-) and the black probe
on the positive pole (+), the multimeter will show a –
usually before the figure. No risk for the device. It can be useful to know
if the battery has different cables other
than red and black, which one corresponds to the
positive and negative poles. At the end, don’t forget to put
the tape and cover back on or if necessary, to
replace them. You can turn off the multimeter
and unplug the cables. Thanks for watching,
