“A local heartbeat” Folge 1: Bauchfleck am Nassfeld | Falkensteiner Hotel Carinzia

Hey! Hey, dear Falkensteiner community.
my name my name is Michi Gruber and I am the Falkensteiner Video Blogger 2019. February 15th, 2019, quarter past three in the afternoon, Falkensteiner trip number 1 – Let’s go! 4:13 pm, we made it into the car, are now on our way from Vienna to the Falkensteiner Hotel Carinzia. Four hours and 6 minutes trip, 413 km – Let’s go! It’s 5 o’clock now, we’re about an hour on the way. Now coffee break! Hello, two regular cappuccinos to go, please. All of it? Gladly! A very, very short coffee break so Markus doesn’t fall asleep. So that I don’t fall asleep. Now it’s on to the freeway! Okay, coffee break is over, 5:27 pm, 359 km to the hotel. 7:56 pm, we drove past Klagenfurt now. We now have exactly 87 km left to the hotel. It’s now pitch-black outside, but it’s time to think about what the plan is for today. Point one: Check in. Point 2: Get skiing gear for tomorrow. And point number three: Hopefully get dinner. Scheduled arrival is 8:57 pm, I hope we get something to eat. After over five hours by car, and we only got lost twice, We actually did and arrived at the Falkensteiner Hotel Carinzia. My name is Michael Gruber. – A warm welcome! – Thank you very much. We just got to the reception, we got our room. Room 309, everything worked out great. All we have to do now is to find our room. Room 309. Five hours by car, late for dinner, but still got something to eat, we actually did it to our hotel. Now prepare everything quickly for tomorrow. Tomorrow we’re off to the slopes. We’ll get back to you tomorrow. Good night! Good morning to you, dear Falkensteiner community. Trip no. 1, day no. 1. It is shortly after 9 o’clock in the morning, we are already on the slope and today is no normal skiing day. Today we have a very, very special ski instructor! He has won in Kitzbühel, he has won a world championship medal and he is Olympic champion. His trademark is the green helmet. I think I really don’t need to say any more. Today on schedule: Skiing day with Olympic champion Fritz Strobl. We’re at a little kids’ race like this now. Fritz Strobl, my ski instructor for today, is the forerunner of the children’s race. That’s why we’ll wait here, then we’ll go on. I’m skiing for the first time in 18 years. So far everything is fine. He’s been doing his bit to get Olympic gold. If anyone can beat him, maybe Friedl can, who the green helmet, the grass green helmet, has already brought good luck. Wait, he’s even faster. Yeah, is he crazy again today? Today the Drautaler is crazy. Look, clean! That was beautiful. Look how beautifully he drove. And the leader is Fritz Strobl! Skiing these days has changed a bit. Everyone already has carving skis, one more the other less. One more the other less. Skiing is now generally done a bit more broadly. Because the ski, when you put it on the edge, automatically goes around the bend. You make the skis hip wide open and put the ski on the edge and if it’s flat, then you can really super drive the waist i.e. within the given radius Then I’ll show it to you and you follow right behind me. The first departures are behind us. First résumé, everything okay? So perfect. The conditions, like when angels travel, perfect weather, super slope conditions. And the skiers, too: Expandable! By the way, how awesome is the weather actually? Ulli, give me a hand! Are you the Ulli of Yoga with Ulli? Yoga with Ulli. How long have you been doing this? Now in Tröpolach for over a year and now in summer we also start with yoga on the mountain. Where and when can you do that and where exactly? This starts in May here at Nassfeld. More exact dates will be announced soon. You’re the first one to participate. Right? I am the first participant, yoga is exactly mine. Last departure for today. Then we made it. Really cool day. Thank you. – Thank you Fritz! Okay, that was ski day with Fritz Strobl. We’ve all made it back to the bottom, nobody’s hurt. Now, change me for a minute, finish me off, then we’ll move on. We’re back at the room, get ready quick, then off to dinner. 6:30 pm, time for dinner. We’re at dinner now, it’s way too fancy that I would film here. I’ll get back to you after dinner, okay? This is exactly how an absolutely unbelievable day comes to an end. We’re gonna go to the bar now, have another drink. Then that’s it for today. I’ll see you tomorrow. Good night. Good morning to you. Day number two today is a bit of a chaos day. And when I say good morning, it’s not really right. It’s already quarter to one pm and we’re back on the slopes now. We just picked up our ski gear, our ski equipment. We’re going straight out of the hotel here. and about 50 meters ahead of us is the runway. That’s the absolute best thing about this hotel. Like I said, it’s a bit of a chaotic day. Why a chaotic day? We started a short hotel tour today. Now quickly on the slope, so that we can use the absolutely fantastic weather again. Ready, 2nd day, 1st departure – Let’s go! There’s the hotel down there. There we go now again. We’re in the middle of the slope. I stopped for a moment to show you something. Take a quick look. This is our hotel and now very short Freeze Frame: This building is the Falkensteiner Hotel Carinzia. There’s the exit from the ski rental that’s inside the hotel. And right next to it, the big building, that’s the bottom station of the gondola. It’s a 25-second walk. Day 2, it’s 6:44 p.m., Markus and I both lay down for an hour. We were really done. Now, let’s go to dinner. By the way, I generally have the feeling that I have not addressed the topic of food enough so far. I promise I’ll catch up tomorrow. We’re back from dinner, it was too much again. I am absolutely full, but I was also sensationally good. It’s about half past ten now, we’re both exhausted. and we’ll be right down. Tomorrow there will be some things on the plan: Point number one: threatening flying, point number two: massage, point number three: spa. That’s why we’re going to bed. A beautiful, beautiful good night! A beautiful good morning. It’s trip number one, day number three. It’s only 6:45 am in the morning, that’s why I’m so quiet. Why am I up so early? I said yesterday that I wanted to focus more on the topic of food. That’s why I’m trying to be the first one at the breakfast buffet. Let’s have a look. Even though the tiredness is still brutal, I managed it. I’m actually the very first one at the breakfast buffet. And honestly? Is there anything better than a breakfast buffet? Take a look at this! The one with the plate was just really, really, really close. We now have relatively good light, we will now try for the first time to let the drone fly out of the hotel room and then almost once to the front so that you can see us and the ski slope in the background. Let’s see?! I never thought this would work out so well. What I want to do now is a hotel tour. Almost once show what the hotel can actually do everything. The construction of the hotel is totally fascinating. It goes among other things fully far upward, but evenly also but also relatively far down. And here, here we are in the lobby area. And the lobby is virtually the central starting point for everything you want to do in this hotel. And over there, there’s the spa area and right there, we’re looking now. And before we go to the spa, of course I have to… change clothes! Now I’m adequately dressed and now it’s really off to the spa area. And the stress goes on. Because I have to make sure that I am on time at 12:30 at the massage. Not surprisingly, the spa area is also absolutely luxurious. The pool alone is absolutely amazing. So, Mr Gruber? – Yes. Hello, Michi. – Tamara, hello, there you go. Well, right back here, I’ll be spoiled for the next 50 minutes. Tamara, you take good care of me, right? That was the spa area, that was my massage. Don’t forget: If you book directly through falkensteiner.com, then you not only get the best price guarantee, but also your spa treatments 20% cheaper. After a really exhausting day, I would now like to devote myself to a topic where I don’t know, if we’ve given it enough meaning already. The theme is food. I had a plan today. The plan was: starter yes, main course yes and skip the dessert. And I’ll go to the appetizer buffet and get my salad, everything’s fine. We get the main course, today salmon – sensationally good. everything’s fine, too. And suddenly I discover the cheese wagon. Yes! Then it was over. And so it happens that also on this evening, on the last evening, by the way, I completely ate all of my food, sit here and let the evening end. Tomorrow in the morning we go back home again. I’ll call you back in the morning, though. See you tomorrow, ciao! Good morning. Day number four, now it’s time to pack, we’re going home today. That was four days here at the Falkensteiner Hotel Carinzia. The suitcases are packed and also already
into the car. If you always want to stay up to date with what Falkensteiner does, for example raffle ski days with Fritz Strobl, check out Instagram, maybe you’ll see me in a post. Or in a story.
